     Feel the small copper disc in your fingers, turn your back to the fountain, squeeze your eyes shut tight, and toss the penny into the bubbling water.  One penny.  One wish.  

     London Elementary School in Madison County spent the month of October collecting wishes- 130,000 wishes to be exact.  First grade teacher, Khara Cunningham, organized a penny drive for LES students, explaining that all proceeds would go to the Batelle Breast Care Center located in their hometown of London.  Columbus OB-GYN’s Dr. Mitch Spahn is the current director of the center.

     Here at Columbus OB-GYN, we spend 365 days out of the year serving women. Women are our specialty, after all, and as much as we love our female patients, we are taking this month to celebrate the other half; the men.

After 40 yrs. in practice and 7,000 babies delivered, Dr. Caranna is retiring. As of June 26th he will no longer be seeing patients at Columbus OB-GYN. He will be teaching the residents at the Mount Carmel West Clinic a few days a week.

His plans with retirement include; Traveling, pursuing his passion for wood working and spending time with family and friends.
